Nordic Hotel Forum is located on a prominent location in Tallinn – between the Old Town and the city centre. The hotel’s simple rectangular volume stands on the edge of the vibrant Rotermanni Quarter – a former industrial area which has been refurbished during the last decade – and helps direct the passenger-flows and increase urban density, a corner-stone of vibrant urban life.
The lower part of the main facade steps back from the street perimeter and creates a small urban plaza in front of the building. Large parts of the hotel’s glass facade were covered with custom-made design-graphics depicting Estonian birds, animals and nature. Unique at the time, the facade graphics was further developed and became part of the corporate visual identity of the hotel company.
Distribution of interior spaces within the building is rational – public facilities and conference rooms are mainly on lower floors and hotel rooms on higher levels. Among other prominent spaces, the top floor facilitates the spa with its excellent views towards the Medieval Old Town.
