Online event “SPACE ME UP: Borderless Living”
To celebrate the kick-off of the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale, pavilions of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, the United Kingdom and Switzerland have jointly initiated the online event “SPACE ME UP: Borderless Living”. The event introduces the exhibitions of the six national pavilions mentioned above interpreting the theme of the biennale – “How will we live together?”
In addition, the event includes a lively discussion by the curators Jiri Tintera (Estonia), Jan Boelen (Lithuania), Philip Tidwell (Finland), Manijeh Verghese and Madeleine Kessler (United Kingdom), Elīna Lībiete (Latvia) and Mounir Ayoub (Switzerland). Together they will take a deeper look at the role of an architect in the 21st century – what is the architect’s role in creating a shared living environment and how could architects contribute to solving the global crisis?
You are welcome to rewatch the event also at a newly developed digital platform biennalepavilions.com that enables visitors to enjoy the contents of the national pavilions of the Biennale Architettura 2021.
