STUDY TRIP TO OSLO

30. may-01. june 2024

Oslo: A Progressive Model in Sustainable Architecture. In Norway, local municipalities have been actively addressing circular materials, sustainable architecture, and design practices. The City of Oslo supports innovation in environmentally sustainable urban development through various pilot projects. A prime example is FutureBuilt, an initiative by the Norwegian Association of Architects, which has established criteria to support and develop sustainable urban environments. FutureBuilt advises the construction sector and designers throughout the planning and building process. A study trip included visits to several buildings certified with the FutureBuilt sustainability label.

Erlend Seilskjær (Architect, FutureBuilt)
Seminar: Circular Construction in Oslo

FutureBuilt is a collaboration project initiated by six municipalities to reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment through cooperation between architects, urban planners, municipalities, and the private sector. The project aims to design and construct 100 buildings with at least 50% lower carbon footprints than the national average. Of the 71 completed buildings, circular economy principles, low-carbon materials, and sustainable mobility have played a significant role.
