Open House Tartu was an architecture weekend held in Tartu as a satellite event of Open House Tallinn. The main purpose of the event was to create an opportunity for everyone to take an interest in architecture and learn more about it. During one spring weekend, April 20-21, around 30 different locations in Tartu opened their doors to the public for free. Open House Tartu was part of the main programme of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024. Over 3700 people took part of the tours!

Selected places, either architecturally, culturally or historically significant, made up a programme that involved over 300 tours and the contribution of more than 120 volunteers. Although led by volunteer guides, the tours were put together by experts in their field: architects, historians, site managers, but also residents. A special programme was dedicated to young people.

If you participated in any of the tours, then please be sure to leave us your feedback.

The gallery of the whole event is available HERE.

Open House Tartu was organized by Estonian Centre for Architecture (ECA). ECA is a non-profit institution developing the architectural culture in Estonia and promoting contemporary Estonian architecture abroad and within Estonia.
